Build your book launch plan, with dates.

Three questions and a few boxes to tick. You get a week-by-week plan from today through two years after launch, each task tied to the lesson that explains it. Print it, or add the key dates to your calendar.

1. When does the book come out?
Your best guess is fine. You can change it and build again.
2. What is the book's main job?
3. Hours a week for marketing
4. What do you already have or want to use?

How the plan is built

Every task comes from a lesson

The builder does not invent a plan for you. It takes the tasks taught in the lessons, puts them on dates counted back from your launch, and keeps or drops each one based on the book's job, your hours and the channels you ticked.

Counted back from launch

Early tasks such as defining the reader sit about six months out. Advance copies go out about eight weeks before launch so early readers have time to finish the book.

Shaped by the book's job

A book meant to win clients gets more time on putting the book in prospects' hands. A book meant for the stage gets event pitches and a talk built from a chapter.

Sized to your hours

At two hours a week the plan keeps the essentials and marks the rest optional. At ten hours it adds the extra outreach. Either way, check what is working at eight weeks and adjust.

Questions

Common questions

How far ahead should I plan a book launch?

Start marketing work about six months before launch if you can. The plan starts earlier tasks, such as defining the reader and building an early-reader list, because those take time to do well. If your date is closer, the builder puts any tasks you have missed at the top so you can see what to catch up on.

What if I only have two hours a week?

Pick two hours. The builder keeps the tasks that matter most for the job your book has to do and marks the rest as optional. A short plan you finish beats a long one you abandon.

Does the plan include paid ads?

No. Most nonfiction books that pay off do it through the right readers: clients, event organizers, peers. The plan focuses on reaching those people directly. If you later run ads, the lessons on measuring what matters will help you judge them.

Can I change my launch date later?

Yes. Change the date and build again. Every task moves with it. If you added the plan to your calendar, delete the old events and add the new file.

Is anything I enter saved?

Only in this browser tab. The builder runs on your device and sends nothing anywhere unless you choose to send the optional form below.
